Revelstoke British Columbia

Heading West from Banff we stopped off for the week at Williamson Lake in Revelstoke BC. Not knowing a thing about our campsite, since we had to reserve a long time ago, we were pleasantly surprised to find that we were staying at the local swimming hole.

My kids are out there somewhere.

It was the best family campground we have stayed at so far. Lots of kids, which meant lots of noise, but our kids had a blast running wild and free making new friends along the way. I just have to say we have met some of the nicest people here in British Columbia. So friendly and happy to give info on the local area.

We spent some time in town...

and visited the local Farmers Market. The fruit was amazing, so sweet and delicious.

We took a stroll on the Giant Cedar's boardwalk.

Revelstoke's ecosystem has more of a rainforest feel making it different from the forests we hiked in Banff.

We also walked fast through Skunk Cabbage boardwalk. There were signs everywhere warning us of bears.

The boardwalk wove through Skunk Cabbage and marsh. We saw lots of berries and plants that make it an ideal place for bears to roam and eat.

Most of our time in Revelstoke was spent at camp. However, we did venture out to the Enchanted Forest...

The Enchanted forest took us through a path of fairy tale homes and nursery rhymes...

and then there were statues like this. Slightly creepy I must say, but the kids enjoyed every minute here.

We loved our time in Revelstoke. If you liked to ski or snowboard this would be an awesome place to visit in the winter.

Currently we are enjoying Whistler, BC...we had a short layover in Kamloops to get some repair work done on the RV. The drive from Kamloops to Whistler was a little nerve racking. A friend warned us that the steep downhills would be hard on our breaks and she was right.

I am sure these runaway lanes have been used many times as our own breaks were starting to smell pretty bad. The drive was beautiful, but we were happy to make it to Whistler with no incident.

Looking forward to this week. We have company coming to visit!
