Cincinnati. Such a cool name for an awesome city.
Our sweet Reagan turned eight while we were in the Cincinnati area and we had lots of fun things planned to celebrate.
Justin took her to the Reds game one night, they were playing the LA Dodgers.
Of course Justin wears his Angels hat, we are not Dodgers fans whatsoever. Reagan had a blast. She came home and said she ate cotton candy, soda and Dippin Dots. That's why she likes to go on dates with Daddy, she gets whatever she wants. I love that Justin spoils her.
The next day was Reagan's actual birthday. After lunch we drove into Cincinnati and stopped off to get ice cream at Greater's.
I don't think I've mentioned before how much ice cream we have eaten on this trip. Almost every stop we make we try the local ice cream. Cincinnati has Greater's. It was the best we have ever tried, hands down.
Obviously by now Reagan is on a huge sugar high.
After ice cream we went to the Cincinnati Children's Museum. My kiddos loved it...even my 11 year old.
Layne worked hard picking up rocks. I laugh at this picture because she wouldn't put the shovel down, she was afraid it would get snatched up by another kid.
Blake was working on building an arch when these sweet adults came over to help him.
The Cincinnati Children's Museum was amazing, perfect for hands on play and education.
Driving home we had to pick up a Cincinnati staple, the 4-way from Skyline Chili as featured on "Diners, Drive-Ins and Dives", which is spaghetti noodles covered in chili, beans and a mountain of shredded cheese.
Sadly the chili threw us off...it had a spice in it, possibly nutmeg, which made it taste sweet unlike the spicy chili we are used to.
Reagan requested Mac n Cheese for her birthday dinner...
so we put a candle in it and sang "Happy Birthday".
That was our time in Cincinnati. We are currently in the Great Smokey Mountains. I am really looking forward to this week, it is so beautiful and green here with lot's to see and do.
