Chicago

We had no idea Lake Michigan would be so beautiful. The colors of the water went from turquoise to shades of teal. We regret the decision to only check out the Chicago area of Lake Michigan and wish we had planned in our schedule more time to discover Northern Michigan. That's ok, another trip...another time.

Driving through Ann Arbor on our way to the Chicago area Justin just had to make a pit stop at the home of his favorite college football team...

the Michigan Wolverines. It was a nice place to stop and have lunch since we had a full day of driving.

Arriving at our campground in the early evening we were excited to take the next few days and relax.

The weather has been humid and warm...a nice change from the last several weeks. We went swimming, played on paddle boats, and the kids enjoyed the playground.

I can't even begin to express how amazing a father and husband Justin is. He has taken on so much responsibility with this trip...getting us from one spot to another. I am so grateful for him.

Since our campground is an hour south of Chicago we only spent one day exploring The Windy City...

we visited Millennium Park

and walked to the Riverwalk.

The girls got soaked splashing in the water fountain outside Navy Pier.

We drove to Wrigley Field...

and laughed at the seats on top of the buildings outside the stadium.

Our trip to Chicago was complete when we got to try an authentic deep dish pizza...

my waistline is suffering big time on this journey, but it's totally worth it.
