Daytona Beach and Ocala Beauty

We arrived at our campground in Daytona, Fl after a long day of travel and were greeted by large moss covered oak trees. The canopy was beautiful, but it made it hard for our coach to park. After some tight turns we set up camp and headed in for the night.

Laundry was pilling up (something we need to schedule in and plan ahead because it takes so much time to do), but we couldn't resist heading out the next day to discover instead. We took a short drive to the Ponce Inlet lighthouse in Daytona. It is the largest lighthouse in Florida and the second largest in the US.
I am so afraid of heights I only made it half way, came down and parked myself on a warm sunny bench. Justin took the kids to the top.

After the lighthouse we headed on over to Daytona Beach.
It was so windy that day we only stayed about 20 min.
We didn't care, we were just excited to drive on the beach.

That evening we went on a walk through an old sugar mill plantation that was taken over by the Seminole Indian's in the late 1800's.
The remains were transformed into a botanical garden, large moss covered oak trees shadowed the paths throughout.

Sunday morning, laundry is still pilling up, but we spent some time as a family reading God's word...since we've hit the road we have not stopped at any churches yet, but have a few in mind that we hope to visit. "Church" looks different for us now, thank goodness for technology, we are able to stay connected and we can listen to just about any teaching we want to on the road.

In the afternoon we headed an hour west to Ocala National Forest. It is home to crystal clear natural springs that rise to the surface creating the most amazing blue water holes to snorkel and swim in.
The water stays a constant 72 degrees...it was chilly at first, but we all went snorkeling.

We finished off the day with a hike through my favorite trees...
saw a beautiful butterfly
and ended it with Slush Puppies.

I am thankful for day's like these, the laundry can wait...we have better things to do and see.
