The rainbow loom craze has not left our home.
This is what one hour of rainbow loom fun looks like, I probably should invest in some sort of plastic storage for it. I do have an obsession with Ziploc baggies, I use them for everything.
We pulled up to our campsite in Savannah, GA at Skidaway Island and the back room was quickly deserted leaving the mess you see in the picture above. Rules still apply on the road so I pulled the kids back in the coach and they quickly picked up so they could go out and play.
We were so excited when we parked, the campsite was beautiful. Sadly though we were quickly greeted by tiny little gnats...and soon after realized that they bite. Sitting outside for any length of time was not an option, so we took day trips out of camp that occupied most of our time.
Our first stop was the historic district of Savannah, GA.
Not being ones who like to pay for tours we decided to set off on foot and see the city. We started at Forsyth Park...the weather was a perfect 70 degrees, making the stroll through beautiful live oak trees so relaxing.
We walked through most of Savannah and enjoyed the beautiful homes and history.
I have a thing for ivy covered houses.
Beautiful historic churches everywhere.
We even took a walk past where they filmed the bus stop scenes from Forrest Gump.
Historic Savannah is absolutely a breathtakingly beautiful city, full of history, character and charm.
The next day we ventured out to Hilton Head Island, SC.
The best way to tour this island is with your bikes and that's just what we did.
Part's of Hilton Head reminded me of Lake Arrowhead, Ca in the summer, making me slightly homesick since some of my dearly loved family lives in Lake Arrowhead and we used to travel there often.
Hilton Head has the best biking trails for families. We even got to ride on the beach.
Not sure about swimming this time of year, the jelly fish were all over.
It was a nice day riding bikes and seeing the Island.
We headed back to our camp that afternoon and took a walk.
Skidaway Island is truly a beautful place to camp, too bad the bugs got in the way.
We are in Charleston, hitting up Ft. Sumter tomorrow, the weather looks promising so it should be a nice day.
